Client: Christensen Construction
Clarifying Trust and Craft Through Visual Identity
The Challenge:
Christensen Construction works in residential renovation environments where quality, reliability, and attention to detail are essential. Clients are inviting a contractor into their homes — and decisions are often driven as much by trust as by technical capability.
While the company was known for working with local suppliers and qualified tradespeople throughout the Fraser Valley, their visual identity didn’t fully reflect the level of care, professionalism, and craftsmanship behind the work.
The challenge was to:
- Create a visual identity that communicated trust and reliability
- Balance modern professionalism with traditional workmanship
- Avoid overused construction imagery while remaining instantly recognisable
- Support first impressions in a referral-driven market

Our Approach
Before moving into visual design, we began with a focused brand discovery process to understand Christensen Construction’s values, working style, and the expectations of homeowners making high-trust renovation decisions. This early work helped clarify how the company wanted to be perceived — dependable, skilled, and detail-oriented — and ensured the visual identity reflected the reality of how they operate on site and with clients.
With the company name clearly communicating the nature of the work, we were able to focus the design effort on visual clarity and tone, rather than literal symbolism.
We developed a new logo that:
- Uses a combination of modern and traditional typography
- Reflects both contemporary techniques and time-tested craftsmanship
- Feels confident and considered without being flashy or overdesigned
Colour, line work, and typographic contrast were carefully chosen to convey permanence, assurance, and attention to detail — qualities clients look for when selecting a renovation partner.
Balancing Modern Standards with Proven Craft
Rather than relying on familiar house or tool imagery, the identity was designed to communicate credibility through restraint.
This approach aligns with how Christensen Construction operates: using current methods and equipment, while delivering workmanship grounded in experience and care. The result is a brand that feels appropriate across a range of touchpoints — from printed materials to client conversations.
The Outcome
Christensen Construction now has a visual identity that:
- Reflects the professionalism and quality of their work
- Reinforces trust at the earliest stages of client engagement
- Aligns with their values of local collaboration and skilled trades
- Supports confidence in a highly personal, residential setting
The new identity provides a clear, dependable foundation the business can continue to build on as it grows.
