Up for the Challenge.
The City of Maple Ridge has been working tirelessly to support its community and local businesses in responding to COVID-19 restrictions. With so much going on, when the time came to re-vamp their brand messaging and print design for the annual Visitor’s Guide, their team was on overload and decided to call in some help from Original Ginger. They needed quality work, with a quick turnaround.
The deadline for a project of this scope was tight but we were up for the challenge. We aren’t new to the process of working alongside internal marketing teams, and since we already have a great relationship with the Economic Development team’s Executive Director, this collaboration just made sense! Within a couple of meetings, expectations were set and a creative direction was established.

Making a Dream Work through Teamwork.
Our process included enhancing their copy, elevating the visuals, and carefully selecting fonts that would complement their existing website and branding. While observing basic principles from the Destination BC Branding Guidelines, we integrated elements from the City of Maple Ridge’s own brand guidelines. We also incorporated internal design assets provided to us by City staff. Teamwork truly made the dream work, and these efforts resulted in two versions of the Visitor’s Guide: a 28-page glossy print version and an online flip book. We would be delighted to work with the City of Maple Ridge again in the future.
