Relax & Renew Spa and Weight Loss Centre
Spa Finds a Fresh Face Through Ecommerce Website.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we received tons of calls from panicked business owners who were in the same boat. With no web presence, they had no way to spread the news that they were still open for business with contactless pickup options. Even among businesses who had websites, many of them were poorly designed and were not set up for ecommerce capability. As a stop-gap measure, many owners turned to inefficient sales procedures, such as random payments through e-transfers and PayPal, along with manual tracking and invoicing. Many also turned to social media as a way to communicate with their customers. However, not all customers use social media and if the feed moves too quickly, their messaging can easily get lost among the “noise” of every other business trying to do the same thing.

A Spa In Need of an Online Lifeline.
Needless to say it was chaos in the small biz world, and Relax and Renew Spa in Leduc, Alberta came to us for help. Frustrated over their unsuccessful attempts to set up a digital storefront through their web hosting provider, they were looking for some way to sell products through their website while their spa was temporarily closed due to COVID-19. However, they soon found out that their existing website didn’t allow for ecommerce integration. Their web hosting provider had used third party software to build their website, that didn’t permit any integrations or allow any changes by the client. They also had no formal logo files or custom branded photos, and after assessing all these gaps, it just became simpler to build them a new website. Original Ginger to the rescue!
Massaging Online Sales with a Renewed Ecommerce Website.
We wanted to give them something that would fit their small business budget, that was quick to get online (because lost time meant lost revenue) and it had to have an ecommerce platform that someone with little IT experience could maintain. After strategic consultations with the client, we did a quick logo revision, so we’d have an updated logo to use on the website and storefront. Then, we designed and developed an affordable one-page WordPress website with beautiful, professional images and graphics that suited their brand and an ecommerce storefront that showcased their most popular products – we even added a “live” Instagram feed, photo gallery and video (how cool is that?) As a bonus, we also offered free access to our members-only online learning centre, with video tutorials on how to add/maintain web and storefront content.
By working with an agency like ours, this client had a valuable, helpful support system – a lifeline really – in a very tumultuous time for small business. We were able to get this client online fast, so they could start selling, with a gorgeous professional website and ecommerce storefront that’s already getting rave reviews!
