True Aromatherapy Products and Spa (TAP)
Tapping into a Unique Brand Story.
True Aromatherapy Products and Spa came to us with a long, rich history and unique legacy of crafting high-quality, hand-blended wellness products. Affectionately known as TAP, the business had evolved through two main periods of ownership. Starting in 2002, with the original owner, Colleen, who lovingly hand-poured her essential oils, until 2013, when Mona Neufeld took over as the new owner of TAP.
Though the business thrived in Mona’s capable hands, its online presence didn’t reflect the new owner’s unique background and the blend of spiritual and cultural influences gained from Mona’s exotic travels through Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Australia. TAP’s existing website also didn’t quite capture the magical “Old World” charm of this local spa and wellness apothecary. We needed a better way to feature this unique brand story through an amazing new website. One that matched the warm, eclectic ambience of TAP’s spa, store and hand-crafted products, but with a style and design that felt relevant to modern customers, who were perhaps used to a more sleek, minimalist aesthetic favoured by modern spas.

Tapping into the Right Combination of Old World and New.
It wasn’t an easy task (though we love a creative challenge). We collaborated closely with Mona, as we guided her through a comprehensive Site Architecture process that involved many discussions, site iterations and much strategic planning before crafting the final website content and messaging. This process yielded beautiful results.
We fashioned a website that balanced both the old and the new: modern design and functionality, with a hint of the “Old World” style of exotic lands and ancient wisdom. We developed compelling messaging and a wonderfully expressive tagline. We also made it easy for customers to search and shop for products on her site, with an E-commerce shopping cart that we converted to a wish list. And once Mona is ready to fulfill orders online, it can be reverted to full shopping cart functionality.
We also wanted to do her products justice by featuring them through stunning custom photography, which we also provided during a 2-day photo shoot. We took many lifestyle shots and over 100 product shots, styling and staging them so that they were visually enticing to customers and yet still authentic to the TAP Brand. First impressions can only be made once! And we know that creating warm, properly lit and staged product photos can make a BIG difference to online sales. Consistent and professional product photography definitely set TAP’s wish list catalogue apart from other online shops.

Taking TAP’s Legacy to Future Heights.
Mona is such a lovely lady, and as a Fort Langley local business owner, we wanted to ensure we supported her brand with an organic and earthy website that matched her unique spirit and that honoured the legacy and long roots of TAP in the local community. She was more than pleased with the results. And with her new website, she is sure to stand out against her competitors and is well-positioned to take her business to the next level with full shopping cart functionality built in and ready to go for online sales.
