CLIENT:
Tulips of the Valley
Showcasing the Best of a Tulip Fest.
This client came to us with a unique challenge. Tulips of the Valley wanted to be ‘the’ premier event attraction in the Fraser Valley every Spring, however, with increased competition from other events, they wanted a better website and a fresh take on their visual brand and messaging to draw more customers to their tulip festival.
The new logo we designed is a mix of clean and modern typography with a clever icon, a simplified origami tulip flower. Since Origami is the art of transforming a simple sheet of paper into a finished sculpture, it seemed fitting to represent the transformation of empty tulip fields into a colourful masterpiece year after year. More than that, we created potential for this logo that is almost endless: from origami workshops for kids, to video animation as a 3D logo, to original souvenirs shaped like an origami flower. It’s beautiful, unique and authentic to the Tulips of the Valley brand!

Re-imagining the Tulip from the Ground Up…
The website project came to us with a long wish list from the client. They wanted a site that was not only informative, easy to navigate, and visually arresting, but within a small business budget. It also needed to appeal to all ages while being respectful of the culturally diverse visitors who often visit the Tulip Festival. The client also needed the ability for visitors to purchase tickets online, as well as a revamp of all her site content, to make it more engaging and fun.
We delivered a meaningful visual brand logo and a beautiful quality custom website that balances design, function, customer experience, and client usability. Now, Tulips of the Valley can inform visitors about their event and sell tickets directly from the website. Additional custom-branded email templates, an ultra deep dive into brand messaging, and a FREE SSL Certificate completed our mission to wow the client and engage their customers!

Budding Email Campaigns & Growing Subscribers.
Projects like this one can be tricky when you have a long client wish list but a small business budget. Rather than re-design the existing website, we created a brand new one with fresh page layouts, a beautiful new logo, better site navigation and usability. We crafted all new brand messaging for website content, including an engaging story called A Year in the Life of a Tulip Bulb, which humanizes the tulip for the delight of website visitors. We also added a powerful Opt-In Form to nurture lead generation. And since the website is built on WordPress, the client can manage much of the content themselves, with 6 months of free access to our video tutorials on how to manage blog posts, page content, photos and more.
And though requirements changed mid-design, due to the client’s shifting needs and preferences, we did our very best to provide responsive and proactive customer service related to additional requests. With escalated due dates, this may have been our most demanding and challenging part of the project, but we delivered a result we are proud of, on time within scope and within budget. The client can now manage and update their website internally.
